Our Story

In 1999, the School District of the City of York faced significant challenges in student achievement, particularly at Lincoln Elementary School. With the support of dedicated parents and teachers, the school transitioned to a charter model in 2000, partnering with Edison Learning. This innovative approach led to remarkable improvements, transforming Lincoln Elementary from the lowest-performing school in the district to the highest within just five years.

Impact

Lincoln Charter School consistently outperforms other schools in the district, achieving a 25.2 point increase in PSSA Reading scores from 2002 to 2009, compared to an average of 14 points in other district schools.
