Our Story
In 1994, a dedicated group of teachers and parents in Gig Harbor came together with a shared vision: to establish a school that would offer a quality, Christ-centered education. Despite starting with no building, students, or resources, their faith and commitment led to the opening of Lighthouse Christian School with 90 students in grades K-8. Early classes were held in spaces generously donated by local churches, fostering a close-knit community.
Overcoming numerous challenges, including limited resources and communication hurdles, the school thrived on the support of devoted families and volunteers. The turning point came when a couple donated a 27-acre property, allowing the school to establish a permanent campus. With the help of local contractors and volunteers, a beautiful campus of modular classrooms opened in 1998.
In 2002, Lighthouse embarked on a significant capital campaign to construct a state-of-the-art 66,000-square-foot facility, which opened in 2004. This new building provided specialized spaces for science, performing arts, and more, enhancing the educational experience for students. Today, Lighthouse Christian School continues to shine as a beacon of hope, nurturing learners to become Godly leaders in the Gig Harbor and Kitsap Peninsula communities.
