Lift Urban Portland began as a grassroots initiative, uniting community members from various congregations and synagogues in Downtown and Northwest Portland. Recognizing the stark wealth disparities, these dedicated individuals organized volunteer efforts to support their neighbors in need. Over the years, Lift UP has expanded its reach, forming partnerships with 50 affordable housing buildings, and now serves 15,000 people annually through various programs.
In the last year, Lift UP distributed over 850,000 pounds of food, directly addressing food insecurity in Northwest and Downtown Portland.
