Our Story
Founded in 1992 by Tim Treadway after the tragic loss of his son, John, to suicide, LifeAct has evolved from the Suicide Prevention Education Alliance into a vital nonprofit organization. Focused on educating youth in grades 6 through 12, LifeAct empowers students to recognize the warning signs of suicide and encourages them to seek help for themselves and others.
Impact
LifeAct has reached over 325,000 students across more than 200 schools in Ohio. In the 2022-2023 school year, 36,781 students participated in LifeAct’s programs, with 4,463 students identifying as needing help after attending. Collaborations with local hospitals and mental health services enhance the support provided to students.
