Our Story
The Life Skills Training Center was established in 1972 by a dedicated group of citizens in Le Mars, Iowa, aiming to create a supportive workshop for individuals with disabilities. Officially opening in January 1973 with just five clients, the center has significantly expanded its services over the years, now assisting over 60 adults with disabilities. In 1988, the organization changed its name to better reflect its mission of promoting independence and community inclusion.
Impact
Life Skills Training Center has successfully provided vocational training and support services, enabling individuals with disabilities to achieve greater independence and productivity. The establishment of a commercial laundry service has created job opportunities, further enhancing the lives of its clients.
