In 1996, artist Larry Quick recognized the need for a safe space for Black boys to express themselves in the Kenilworth Parkside community. Co-founding Life Pieces To Masterpieces with advocate Mary Brown and fundraiser Ben Johnson, the organization has grown from an after-school arts program for seven boys to a comprehensive nonprofit. Over two decades, LPTM has become a leading model for developing African American boys and young men in marginalized communities.
Life Pieces To Masterpieces focuses on developing character and leadership, unlocking potential, and preparing young men to transform their lives and communities through creative expression and mentorship.
