Our Story

Founded in 2008 by Dr. Joy Johnson, Life Matters, Inc. emerged from a deep commitment to address the pressing needs of the community. Witnessing the struggles of underserved families, Dr. Johnson felt a strong call to action, leading to the establishment of Life Matters. Starting with a single multi-family apartment in the Foothill Farms/North Highlands area, the organization quickly made a significant impact, serving 661 households at Logan Park within two years. Today, Life Matters operates across six locations in North Sacramento, focusing on community development and economic empowerment.
