Our Story

Villalobos Rescue Center (VRC) began its journey in the early '90s as a wolf and wolfdog rescue. Over the years, it has evolved into one of the largest dog rescues in the world, focusing primarily on Pit Bulls. After relocating from Los Angeles County, California, to Southeast Louisiana in 2011, VRC has dedicated itself to rescuing and rehabilitating dogs, particularly in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

Impact

With an average adoption rate of one dog per day, VRC operates with a daily cost of approximately $10,000 to care for around 400 dogs. The organization has successfully rescued and rehabilitated thousands of dogs, significantly impacting the local community by addressing the plight of abandoned and neglected animals in New Orleans.

Why Donate?

Donations to VRC are crucial for providing food, shelter, medical care, and spay/neuter services for the dogs in their care. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, all contributions are tax-deductible, and every dollar helps improve the lives of these animals and supports ongoing rescue efforts in a community that desperately needs assistance.
