Founded in 2004, the LGBT Resource Center for the 7 Rivers Region emerged from a community-driven vision to create a safe and supportive space for LGBTQ+ individuals. The initiative began with a master’s project by Kelly Teachout in 2003, highlighting the need for resources and connection within the La Crosse community. Today, the Center stands as a beacon of hope and support, fostering inclusivity and understanding.
In 2024, the Center proudly launched free therapy services in partnership with Viterbo University, providing essential mental health support to the LGBTQ+ and questioning community. With expanded programming and outreach, the Center addresses critical health issues and creates affirming spaces for connection.
