Our Story
The Lewis & Clark Humane Society was founded in Helena in 1964 to create a more humane and ethical approach to stray and unwanted pets. This small, community-based organization provides shelter for dogs and cats while working to end pet overpopulation and improve the well-being of companion animals. Serving three counties in Southwestern Montana, LCHS covers an area of approximately 5,500 square miles, impacting the lives of around 92,000 residents.
Impact
In 2022, LCHS took in nearly 1,000 animals, providing them with almost 10,000 lbs of food and thousands of hours of care. Your support ensures that every animal receives the love and attention they deserve.
