About the Lewis and Clark Library Foundation

Founded in 1978, the Lewis and Clark Library Foundation has been dedicated to enhancing the library system in Lewis and Clark County. With significant initial gifts from the estates of Merlyn Rector and Ronald Schmid, the Foundation has grown its assets to over $1 million, thanks to the generosity of countless donors. The Foundation has played a pivotal role in acquiring essential resources, including the first Bookmobile in 2012 and the innovative Words on Wheels Book Bicycle in 2019.
