About Lehigh Valley Zoo

Founded in 1906 by General Harry C. Trexler, Lehigh Valley Zoo has been pivotal in saving the North American bison from extinction. Nestled in the Trexler Nature Preserve, the zoo is home to over 325 animal ambassadors representing more than 125 species.

With attendance soaring from 63,000 visitors in 2005 to over 215,000 in 2022, the zoo has engaged over 35,000 students through its educational programs, fostering a love for wildlife and conservation.
