Our Story
In January 1944, a group of dedicated individuals in Lehigh Township recognized the urgent need for a local volunteer fire company. With the long response times from neighboring communities posing a risk to residents, they convened on February 3, 1944, to establish the Lehigh Township Volunteer Fire Company No 1. Over the years, this small group transformed into a robust firefighting service, developing procedures for equipment procurement, firefighter training, and establishing a fire station.
