Our Story

Founded in the late 1960s by Mr. Al Leary, the Leary Educational Foundation has been dedicated to serving underachieving adolescent boys. The journey began with the establishment of the Leary School in Falls Church, Virginia, and evolved into the Timber Ridge School, a residential treatment center that has been operational since 1971. Located in Northern Frederick County, Timber Ridge School provides a nurturing environment for boys facing mental health, behavioral, and substance abuse challenges.
