LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA

Voter education engagement and candidate information. DC Statehood ward events. Completed in wards 1 2 and 6. Approximately 1,500 tuned in virtually to our Ward 2 event. Have plans for 3 5 and 8. Planning 4 & 7. LWVDC presented to three sets of students from around the country approximately 350 students attended across the three presentations. LWVDC launched a new phase of Quilts 4 DC. We created a 20-60 minute PowerPoint presentation that can be delivered via Zoom to groups across the country called Q&A - Quilts & Advocacy. Supported the Apollo 51 artivist group at a local DC event in early June. DC residents engaged with the photo booth that invites them to join the Apollo 51 mission to land the 51st star on the flag. The action added 14 people to the LWVDC statehood mailing list. LWVDC has reached out to 30+ DC residents and organizations to gather personal stories on what DC Statehood means to interviewees.
