Young Learners School

Our Story

Established in December 2000, Young Learners School is a pioneering collaborative model that unites the Houston Independent School District, Gulf Coast Community Service Association, and Neighborhood Centers, Inc. Officially opening its doors in 2001, the school has expanded its partnerships to include Southwest Schools District, AVANCE, and the Harris County Department of Education. This collaboration has enabled Young Learners School to serve over 2,500 eligible children aged three to five across forty-two Head Start and licensed early childhood centers.

Focusing on literacy-based curriculum and instruction, Young Learners School prepares children for kindergarten, significantly enhancing their educational journey.
