Our Story

Founded in 1995 by the School Sisters of St. Francis, Layton Boulevard West Neighbors Inc, now known as VIA Community Development Corporation, is dedicated to building strong, healthy neighborhoods in Milwaukee's near south side. The organization has evolved from its roots as VISION Ministries to focus on ensuring that all communities have access to essential resources.

Impact

Since its inception, VIA has leveraged over $50 million in neighborhood investment, developed more than 50 units of affordable housing, and supported the creation of over 150 jobs and 40 new businesses. With over $9 million invested in homeowner partnerships, VIA has improved more than 1,000 homes and engaged over 30,000 neighbors through nearly 550 community events.
