Founded in 2011 at UC Law SF, Lawyers for America, Inc. is dedicated to improving access to justice. By increasing the legal manpower of nonprofits and public law offices, the organization provides law students and new attorneys with invaluable practical training. Utilizing a unique 'medical-model' for legal education, students focus on classroom learning for two years before gaining hands-on experience as externs and fellows in legal organizations.
Lawyers for America has successfully created a framework that allows law students to gain practical experience while addressing the unmet legal needs of society.
