EIN: 94-2581415 · San Francisco, CA
Our Story
Founded in 1968, the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area was inspired by the legacies of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy. This organization addresses racial and economic injustices, ensuring equal treatment under the law for all individuals, regardless of race, class, or legal status.
Our Impact
Mobilizing over 1,000 pro bono attorneys, the Lawyers’ Committee provides nearly 30,000 hours of free legal assistance each year, valued at close to $20 million. Through direct services, impact litigation, and public policy advocacy, systemic racism is challenged, and civil rights are promoted.
