Our Story

Lawrence Community Works, Inc. (LCW) is a community development corporation founded in 1986, dedicated to creating vibrant neighborhoods and empowered residents in Lawrence, Massachusetts. With a focus on community planning, organizing, and asset-building, LCW has successfully built or renovated over 400 units of affordable housing, transforming lives and neighborhoods.

Impact

Since its rebirth in 1999, LCW has grown its membership to over 5,000 residents and stakeholders, completed 215 new units of affordable housing, and created asset-building programs for over 1,000 adults annually. These initiatives have placed over 200 parents in jobs and connected nearly 230 individuals to training and educational opportunities.
