Our Story

Lawndale Christian Health Center originated from a grassroots effort by community residents, primarily high school students, who formed a sports-based youth group. This initiative evolved into Lawndale Community Church, where members began to address the pressing need for affordable healthcare in North Lawndale and the West Side of Chicago. In 1984, the Health Center officially opened its doors, offering essential services alongside community engagement activities.

Impact

From humble beginnings with just 4 exam rooms and a staff of 5, Lawndale Christian Health Center has expanded to over 100 medical providers across 6 clinic locations, significantly improving healthcare access for a medically underserved community.
