Our Story

Founded in 1897 by Miss Laura Baker, the Laura Baker Services Association began as The School for Nervous and Backward Children in Minneapolis. Relocating to Northfield, Minnesota, the organization evolved into a world-class association dedicated to serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Today, LBSA offers a continuum of living, educational, and support services, ensuring that every individual can lead a meaningful and productive life.
