Founded in 2017 by Consuelo Poland Lockhart, the Latinas Welding Guild Inc. is dedicated to creating an inclusive environment for marginalized groups in Indianapolis. Consuelo's journey from Guatemala to becoming a champion for social equity is a powerful testament to resilience. After facing discrimination in male-dominated fields, she established the Guild to provide equal access to education and job training in skilled trades, particularly welding.

Since its inception, the Guild has expanded its offerings to include diverse manufacturing classes, merging with Project Azul to broaden its scope and impact. This growth has allowed the organization to enrich the community by fostering opportunities for low to moderate-income individuals and youth, helping them break barriers and thrive in traditionally male-dominated industries.
