Empowering Workers for Social Justice

Latino Union of Chicago builds power with day laborers, household workers, and other contracted workers to fight for social and economic justice. Founded in 2000 by women temporary workers, this organization has focused on improving working conditions and has successfully passed significant legislation such as the Day Laborer Protection Act.

Impacting Lives Through Advocacy

With the establishment of the Albany Park Workers Center in 2004, Latino Union has increased average wages for day laborers by 200%. The organization has mobilized community members, leading to the passing of the Illinois Domestic Workers Bill of Rights and establishing the strongest protections against wage theft in the country.

Support Vulnerable Workers

Donating to Latino Union supports the empowerment of vulnerable workers, helping them gain access to fair wages, legal protections, and community resources. Contributions enable the organization to continue its advocacy and educational programs, which have a direct impact on improving the lives of immigrant and low-income workers.
