Our Story

The Latin American Cinemateca of Los Angeles (LACLA) was founded in 2000 by passionate cultural activists and filmmakers who sought to elevate the visibility of Latin American cinema. Initially focused on vintage Mexican films, LACLA has expanded its programming to include contemporary works by North American Latina and Latino artists, creating a vibrant platform for cultural exchange.
