Our Story
Lasting Smiles Uganda was founded by Pastor Semei Ziva, who felt a divine calling to show love to a hurting world. His journey began with volunteer work at his local church and expanded through evangelistic missions across Africa. Witnessing the plight of unclothed and hungry children in dire need of medical attention ignited a passion within him to make a difference.
Alongside his wife, Susan, Semei took in three orphaned girls, whose heartbreaking stories of loss and struggle fueled their mission. These girls, once selling fruits on the streets for survival, found hope and a new family. Under Semei and Susan's care, they returned to school, and today, two are teachers and one is a nurse. This transformation inspired the establishment of Lasting Smiles Uganda, dedicated to enhancing the well-being of vulnerable children through education, healthcare, and support.
