Our Story

Founded in 1991 by Ken and Judith Ruiz, the Las Vegas Valley Humane Society emerged from a passion for animal welfare. With a focus on trap-neuter-release programs, the organization addresses the critical issues of animal suffering and overpopulation in Southern Nevada. Officially recognized as a 501(c)(3) in 1993, LVVHS has been a beacon of hope for countless animals in need.

Our Impact

Each year, nearly 500 animals find loving homes through adoption events, while spay/neuter, vaccination, and microchipping services ensure their health and safety.
