Our Story

Lantern Community Services champions the independence and well-being of New Yorkers impacted by or threatened with homelessness. As one of New York City’s largest providers of supportive housing, Lantern focuses on young adults who have aged out of foster care, families, veterans, and individuals living with HIV or mental illness.

Impact

Every year, 96% of Lantern clients stay with the organization or move on to stable, independent housing, exceeding the HUD benchmark of 90%.
