Landis Communities

Our Story

What is now Landis Communities began in the early 1960s when the Eastern Mennonite Board of Missions and Charities explored how to develop a community for retired mission workers and pastors. Frank Enck, the chair of the program planning committee, inspired the founders to envision a community rather than a traditional old people’s home. This vision has guided Landis Communities for over 60 years.
