Our Story

Founded in 1956 with a generous anonymous donation, the Darien Land Trust has been dedicated to preserving the natural beauty of Darien, Connecticut. Incorporated in 1960 and granted 501(c)(3) status in 1973, this organization has expanded its efforts to protect nearly 220 acres of diverse landscapes.

Impact

With a focus on wetlands, tidal salt marshes, upland forests, and meadows, the Darien Land Trust has permanently safeguarded 230 acres, enriching the community with vital habitats and educational opportunities.
