Founded in 1967 by Dr. Patty and Dennis Calvert, Lamplighter Montessori School was established to offer a quality Montessori educational option to the Memphis community. Originally located in Whitehaven, the school expanded with several satellite locations before becoming a not-for-profit organization in 1990. In 2004, the school moved to its current location in Cordova, nestled on over ten secluded wooded acres, providing a nurturing environment for children.
For over 57 years, Lamplighter Montessori School has enriched the lives of Mid-South families by providing a high-quality Montessori education. Currently, the school serves 180 students aged 18 months to 14 years, fostering a globally diverse community.
