Our Story

The Lake Shore Railway Association was established in 1979 to promote the educational and historical aspects of railroading in Lorain County, Ohio. Volunteers dedicate their time to restore and maintain the former Lorain & West Virginia rail line, ensuring the community's rich heritage is preserved.

Our Impact

Most of the LSRA's income is generated from ticket sales, which fund essential operations like insurance, fuel, and equipment upkeep. The goal is to restore over 20 miles of railway, enhancing local tourism and education about railroading history.
