In January 1996, Helen and Eldon Jones inspired local citizens with a vision for a community swimming pool and fitness center in Lake Crystal. With a generous $1 million gift from the Jones family, the community rallied together to match this amount over five years, expanding the project to include a multipurpose gymnasium. The Lake Crystal Area Recreation Center (LCARC) officially opened its doors in September 2000, thanks to significant community fundraising and support.
The LCARC enhances the quality of life for individuals of all ages, from toddlers to seniors, by providing a family-oriented facility that promotes health and physical fitness through diverse recreational activities.
