The Lake County Lightning, originally founded as the Mundelein Red Devils in 2001 by Jerry Fox, began with just 11 players on a single 12u team. After a successful third-place finish in Cooperstown, the organization evolved, changing its name to Lake County Lightning in 2003 to reflect its growing community of players from beyond Mundelein. The mission has always been clear: to provide better opportunities for all young athletes.
With a focus on fundamental skills, teamwork, and a strong work ethic, the Lightning organization fosters a positive team culture and a love for the game. Many players have successfully transitioned to collegiate sports, showcasing the dedication and hard work instilled by the program.
