Our Story

Lake Cares Food Pantry is a vital community resource in Lake County, Florida, dedicated to alleviating hunger and providing essential items to those in need. Governed by a Board of Directors made up of local business representatives and caring residents, Lake Cares has grown significantly since its inception, serving over 67,000 individuals in 2022 alone. With the support of the Second Harvest Food Bank, the pantry distributes approximately 25,000 pounds of food each week, ensuring that families and individuals have access to nutritious meals.

In 2022, Lake Cares served over 67,000 individuals, with around 65% being seniors and disabled clients. The organization also runs programs to support children in need, including a Weekend Children’s Feeding Program and a Summer Feeding Program.
