Our Story
The Lake Bluff History Museum was founded by dedicated educators Kathleen O’Hara and Janet Nelson, who sought to enhance the Social Studies curriculum by connecting it to local history. With the invaluable support of local historian Elmer Vliet, who donated his extensive collection, the museum transformed from a school project into a thriving nonprofit organization in 1995.
