Our Story

Established in 1927 by the Civic Improvement Club of La Conner and the American Legion, the La Conner Library has grown into a vital community resource. With support from the La Conner Town Council, the library evolved, leading to the creation of the La Conner Regional Library in 1993. The recent opening of the La Conner Swinomish Library in October 2022 marks a significant milestone, serving a diverse community of about 5,000 residents.

Impact

The La Conner Library Foundation raised over $15,000 during the Library Giving Day appeal, supporting youth and adult programs, author readings, and engaging events. This demonstrates the community's commitment to the library's mission.
