Our Story

Years ago, a young teacher's experience of driving a student home revealed a heartbreaking reality: children sharing shoes in a migrant camp. This moment ignited a passion for giving, inspired by the lessons learned from family and the book The Giving Tree. Together with my sister, Mary Myrmo, the journey began to collect and distribute new shoes to needy children in our community.

Over 18 years, Laces of Love has provided over 300,000 new shoes to children in Collier and Lee Counties, Florida. This initiative has transformed lives, ensuring that every child has the footwear they need to thrive.
