Our Story

In January 2010, Haiti was struck by a catastrophic earthquake, prompting a relief effort that would change lives forever. Just weeks later, Melissa Saint Cyr joined a team in Haiti, where she felt an undeniable calling to this vibrant nation. In December of that year, she met Lender Saint Cyr, a native of La Gonave, who shared her passion for serving his community. Together, they opened a children's home on La Gonave in October 2011, dedicating their lives to the well-being of the children they serve. As these children grew, the need for a transitional program became evident, leading to the launch of this initiative in 2019, aimed at equipping young adults with essential life skills. In 2020, La Gonave Haiti Missions was officially established, marking a new chapter in their mission to uplift the community.
