Our Story

The Kutztown Area Historical Society was founded in response to the American Bicentennial, aiming to provide a dedicated local history resource for the Kutztown region. Established in 1974-75, it became one of the first regional historical societies in Berks County. In 1979, the society acquired the historic 1892 Public School Building, which now serves as its headquarters.
