Our Story

Founded in 1977 by five dedicated community activists, the Korean Community Center of the East Bay (KCCEB) began with the mission to assist newcomer Koreans in accessing vital services. With support from the Methodist Church, KCCEB became an independent nonprofit in 1980, evolving to meet the changing needs of the community.

Impact

Each year, KCCEB serves over 10,000 individuals, providing culturally-sensitive meals, mental health counseling, and immigration support. The organization plays a crucial role in generating revenue for immigrant-owned businesses and navigating social and health systems for limited English proficient populations.
