Our Story

The Appalachian Equality Chorus, originally the Knoxville Gay Men’s Chorus, was founded in 2012 in response to the proposed 'Don’t Say Gay' bill in Tennessee. This vibrant ensemble has evolved to embrace and celebrate diversity, using the power of music to foster empathy and advocate for social justice.

Impact

Through music and community partnerships, the chorus uplifts the LGBTQ+ community and promotes solidarity among diverse identities, significantly enhancing visibility and outreach since its inception.
