Welcome to Knock Knock Children's Museum

Founded in 2004 by a passionate group of women, Knock Knock Children's Museum was born from a vision to create a vibrant space for the children of Baton Rouge to thrive. With overwhelming community support, the museum focuses on enhancing early learning experiences through play-based learning and hands-on activities. Collaborating with experts in early childhood education and museum planning, the museum has developed a unique Learning Framework that caters to children from birth to age 8.

After years of planning and community engagement, the museum opened its doors on August 22, 2017. Despite facing challenges during the pandemic, including a 447-day closure, the museum has remained resilient, thanks to the generosity of donors and federal support. Today, it stands as a beacon of creativity and exploration, dedicated to serving all children, especially those from under-resourced backgrounds.
