Our Story

At Kits of Hope, the mission is clear: every child who has faced trauma deserves love, hope, and joy. With nearly 500,000 children affected by neglect and abuse each year, many find themselves in the foster care system, often stripped of their cherished belongings. This transition can be terrifying and lonely. Through the creation of curated Hope Kits, designed by Pediatrician Dr. Eko, Kits of Hope aims to ease this transition, providing children with essential items that foster comfort and healing. Unstructured play, encouraged by these kits, helps build self-confidence, social skills, and resilience, laying the groundwork for a successful future.

Impact

The impact of Kits of Hope extends beyond the kits themselves. By offering science-based training on brain health to foster parents and child welfare staff, the organization empowers caregivers to nurture and support the children in their care. To date, over 800 Hope Kits have been distributed to foster children in Oklahoma, and hundreds of foster parents have been equipped to create loving, healthy environments.
