About Kitchen Dog Theater Company

Founded in 1990 by five passionate graduates of the MFA Theater Program at Southern Methodist University, Kitchen Dog Theater Company (KDT) has become a cornerstone of the Dallas arts community. This ensemble theater company is dedicated to producing innovative works that challenge societal norms and provoke meaningful conversations among audiences.

Impact of Kitchen Dog Theater

With a resident company of 33 talented artists, KDT has staged 152 productions and showcased over 100 staged readings through its New Works Festival. The theater's commitment to nurturing new voices is evident in its programs like Admit:ALL, which provides free tickets to underserved communities, and Playwrights Under Progress (PUP) Fest, aimed at young playwrights.
