About Kino Border Initiative

Founded in January 2009, the Kino Border Initiative (KBI) emerged from a comprehensive needs assessment that highlighted the urgent humanitarian needs of deported migrants in Nogales, Sonora. Engaging with stakeholders on both sides of the border, KBI was established to provide essential support while fostering bi-national solidarity. This faith-based organization operates with a commitment to respecting the dignity of every individual, offering humanitarian assistance, education, and advocacy.

Impact of KBI

Since its inception, KBI has made a significant impact by serving over 199,420 meals and providing clothing to more than 10,061 migrants. The organization also offers first aid, social work, and psychological support to thousands in need, demonstrating a profound commitment to humanitarian assistance.
