Our Story

The Kingman Boys & Girls Club was founded in 1968 in response to the violence following Martin Luther King’s assassination. Local business owner Richard L Peters, along with five Rotary Club members, established a safe haven for boys to engage in sports and activities. With ongoing support from the Peters/Lamb family and local philanthropies, the club has been a cornerstone of the community for decades.

Impact

Since its inception, Kingman has positively impacted hundreds of youth, helping them secure athletic scholarships and achieve high school attendance rates above the DCPS average.
