Support for Families in Crisis
Training for Mandated Reporters

Our Story

KidSafe Collaborative emerged from a grassroots initiative in 1969, when social workers and human services providers recognized the need for a collaborative approach to support families in crisis. The first child protection team meetings at the former Mary Fletcher Hospital laid the groundwork for a community-focused mission to prevent child abuse and neglect. Over the years, KidSafe has evolved, incorporating as the Community Network for Children, Youth and Families in 1986 and expanding its reach through federal grants and innovative projects.

Our Impact

Each year, KidSafe touches the lives of over 400 children and their families. Through its mandated reporter training program, in partnership with Vermont's Department for Children and Families, hundreds of educators and child care workers learn to recognize and report maltreatment, ensuring a safer environment for children.
