Our Story

Founded in 1988 as Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Spartanburg, Kids Upstate was born from the vision of community leaders dedicated to enhancing the workforce through youth development. Initially welcomed into Spartanburg District 7 schools, the organization expanded its reach, merging with Boys & Girls Club of Cherokee County in 2006 to form a united front for local youth. Today, Kids Upstate operates in three Spartanburg Districts and Cherokee County schools, providing vital support to children in need.

Our Impact

Kids Upstate serves nearly 2,000 children each week, offering comprehensive after-school programming and summer activities that foster a sense of belonging, competence, and purpose.
