Our Story

Founded in 2020 by La’Kisha Clarke, the Kids Sew Genius Foundation emerged from a desire to uplift young people during a global crisis. La’Kisha, driven by her passion for entrepreneurship and creativity, began teaching sewing and crafting skills to youth in her community, providing them with a constructive outlet amidst the challenges of their environment. With her own resources, she supplied materials, ensuring that every child had the tools to learn and express themselves.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, La’Kisha’s commitment to her community was exemplified when she made over 1,400 masks for hospitals, schools, and frontline workers. This selfless act highlighted her dedication to serving those in need. Inspired by her journey and the transformative power of mentorship, La’Kisha established the Kids Sew Genius Foundation to create opportunities for youth to develop essential life skills and find positive pathways.
